Windows 10 cannot read the installation media USB

RAM,

Took it out & cleaned it with a new earaser & tested, no any difference.

Resisters,

Checked them with a flashlight, could not see anything out of shape, all tops flat & none of them had a belly, nor any rust.

More questions:

1. Light inside the machine.

In the machines of XP, Vista & Win 7, there was a light inside the machine, in a corner, on or closed to the motherboard, to indicate normal power on.

This is the first time for me to open a machine after 2014. I was surprised by the fact that this machine has fewer stuff in the machine, on the main board & more spacious (everything is smaller) than that of Win 7. Example, there is only one fan, the one cooling the CPU. And there is no light to tell the power on. Is this (no light) normal or abnormal?

2. CMOS battery.

Someone says that the battery might be bad.

How to tell whether it is bad or not?

3. How to replace the CMOS battery?

Buy a new & put is in. Easy. But HOW ABOUT THE BIOS SYSTEM IN THE BATTERY?

Does it come with the battery?

Well, you've certainly got plenty of experience now inside the computer. Good going, even if the problem isn't solved. I don't really have much hope that replacing the coin battery would be a fix, but it should be inexpensive to try just to see. After that, I don't know what to suggest except a shop or a new computer. What you've got (like my Dell Inspiron 3542) probably won't make it to Win 11 anyway.

I'm afraid I am out of ideas.. I am thinking that the Bios itself is corrupted..

Reflashing the Bios may help, but I don't know how you would do that without being able to load an external device to do it..

A repair shop may have other methods, but that is just a guess, and it may cost more than you want to spend..

It might be worth at least checking..

There is a very remote chance that the problem is related to the Power Supply not providing enough, or correct voltages.. This again is just a guess.. Switching a power supply can be a lot of work and they are not cheap these days, but I thought I should mention the possibility..

This is an information to everyone trying to help me.

A. With CMOS battery in its socket & SATA3 and SSD disconnected.

1.unplug the external speakers, power on, no difference.

2.unplug the mouse, power on, no difference.

3.unplug the keyboard, power on, no difference.

4.unplug the internet, power on, no difference.

5.disconnect the DVD drive, power on, no difference.

B. With CMOS battery in its socket,

1.connect SSD, power on, no difference.

2.connect SATA3, power on, no difference.

3.connect DVD drive, power on, no difference.

4.connect internet, power on, no difference.

5.change keyboard & plug in, power on, no difference.

6.change mouse & plug in, power on, no difference.

7.plug in the external speakers, power on, no difference.

With so many various tries & tests in the past week, there has been not even the slightest variation or change of the stuck situation since the very first second the problem occurred a week ago.
