'YES' button on UAC prompt is absent.

There are lots of questions on this on line but no answers which actually work.

The problem is that I was trying to fine a way of saving config files in Microsoft FSX. Everytime I got a 'you're not permitted' response. Then an emergency cropped up and I left what I was doing. When I returned it seemed the PC had decided to do its own thing but I now believe it did a windows update.

The result was that whenever I want to do anything the UAC prompt appears asking me if I really want to. The trouble is the 'YES@ button has disappeared and no offered cure works because the UAC Prompt appears when I try - minus the 'Yes' button so the only option is 'NO'!.

I'm STUCK. Does anyone have a solution that really works - I can't even do a system restore.

    Following your instructions I ave got as far as'Reset your PC'.

    I don't know yet if it will present me with the UAC Prompt once I click on it or go straight ahead and do the business. What troubles me Juliana is that I am warned that all apps etc that didn't come with the PC will be erased. I have a lot of electronic stuff which will cause me a problem if they disappear!!

    AS System Restore is available at the same point and that does not removce apps, should I try it first?

    Neilpzz believes that if a Restore removes the passwords I should be able to deal with it. (You don't know me Neilopzz!!!)

    I was waiting to see if it would work, as the error still persists, we will do a system restore, follow the step below:

    Don't worry, we'll work this out together ^^

    1. Click the Windows + I keys
    2. Click Update and Security
    3. Left side click on Recovery
    4. On the PC restore part, select the Start Now option
    5. Then a new Windows window will open.
    6. You can choose the option to keep my files the files will be kept, or remove all, which will remove all files.
    7. Make the settings and click Next.

    It may take a while, but Windows 10 will prepare everything to format the PC

    This is unchartered territory for me I'm afraid. I've often used System Restore (and it did its job) but never used or setup a password reset disk.

    It may of course be erring on the side of caution and so long as you are fully aware of the new password and the fact it was blank previously, not needed.

    System Restore recommends a password reset disk is created when a new password has been added. I tried that, but get no response when I try it. I assume this may have something to do with the UAC prompt.

    Juliana, I get as far as 12 now but the UAC prompt without 'yes ' stops me getting any further. Neilpzz is suggesting I go for a restore as it seems that is now possible. Are you in agreement?
