'YES' button on UAC prompt is absent.

There are lots of questions on this on line but no answers which actually work.

The problem is that I was trying to fine a way of saving config files in Microsoft FSX. Everytime I got a 'you're not permitted' response. Then an emergency cropped up and I left what I was doing. When I returned it seemed the PC had decided to do its own thing but I now believe it did a windows update.

The result was that whenever I want to do anything the UAC prompt appears asking me if I really want to. The trouble is the 'YES@ button has disappeared and no offered cure works because the UAC Prompt appears when I try - minus the 'Yes' button so the only option is 'NO'!.

I'm STUCK. Does anyone have a solution that really works - I can't even do a system restore.

    If you don't see the option Family & other users it suggests your account is not an administrator account.

    What is shown in Control Panel > User accounts, does it show your account as an administrator account. Can you provide a screenshot of that.

    To get to Control Panel type control in Search and select the top result.

    To Backup do as in the steps below you will need a Pendrive

    1. Click the Windows + I keys
    2. Click Update and Security
    3. Left side click Backup
    4. click on Add a drive and select the disk or pendrive to be backed up
    5. After the process is complete, click More Options and click Back Up Now
    6. After Backup completes, you can restore the system.

    See if you can back it up on your pc

    Juh,

    I can't make a backup, the UAC prompt won't allow it. Nor can I find Other Users in settings/accounts!

    If you Reset then there will be no restore points. A reset does remove all non native Windows 10 apps and any installed programs. And sets windows back to a clean installed state. They will need to be installed from their original source or media.

    Make a Backup before restoring. Before trying, let's create a new user to test if the error still persists. Access the article to create a new user
