'YES' button on UAC prompt is absent.

There are lots of questions on this on line but no answers which actually work.

The problem is that I was trying to fine a way of saving config files in Microsoft FSX. Everytime I got a 'you're not permitted' response. Then an emergency cropped up and I left what I was doing. When I returned it seemed the PC had decided to do its own thing but I now believe it did a windows update.

The result was that whenever I want to do anything the UAC prompt appears asking me if I really want to. The trouble is the 'YES@ button has disappeared and no offered cure works because the UAC Prompt appears when I try - minus the 'Yes' button so the only option is 'NO'!.

I'm STUCK. Does anyone have a solution that really works - I can't even do a system restore.

    Using a Microsoft account now won't resolve anything and everything you are trying to do should work with a local account.

    Can you confirm the current version and build of Windows 10. Type winver in Search and select the top result. post back the version and build in full. Or a screenshot.

    This run the command without administrative privileges, and see if the error resolves.

    Make the privileges box unmarked, to see if it will work, if it doesn't we will do a clean restore.

    Now then neilpzz,

    I have a windows 10 installation DVD. When I upgaded from Windows 7 I had the local expert do it for me as my graphics card had expired. He did say something about 'local' but I can't recall what he said. I really didn't want to upgrade to Windows 10 because I was used to Windows 7 and only usethe PC for Electronics Design anf fiddling with Flight Sim X. (As well as transferring cash bail-outs to my grand daughter!

    I'm approaching my dotage now and find this all very challenging though I never used to having bought my first PC as a 286 with Windows 3!!!

    So, enough life story, I have downloaded files for the Media Creation Tool but once again the UAC prompt won't let he use it!

    I do have a Microsoft Account though I never access it.
