So the title is basically my problem. The left alt key and the windows key are swapped. I have no idea how this came to be and I really do not know how to fix this. Any help would be great.

Edit: I tried using the on-screen keyboard and the functions are still the same. They haven't been changed

Hi Eliandre,

I am Dave, an Independent Advisor, I will help you with this.

The solution may depend on your keyboard, try each of the following keyboard shortcuts one at a time to see if that switches those keys back:

Fn + A

Fn + S

Fn + Space Bar for 3 seconds

If none of those work for you:

Open Device Manager

Expand the Keyboards section

Right click your keyboard and choose 'Uninstall'

Then restart (not shut down) your PC

Happened to me! I figured it out. If your keyboard is anything like mine where there is a "Windows/Android" & "iOS/Mac" switch, check if the switch is on "Windows" mode. Hope that helps.

(I have the Keychron K2).

Hello DaveM121. I just wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I started smacking random buttons on my keyboard, because my keyboard's numbers are the same buttons for the F numbers, so if I want to press F1 I have to hold Fn and press 1, so I wanted to switch it but I didn't know how so I started clicking Fn with caps lock, W, A, S, Windows, and alt button all whilst holding down Fn. So everything switched and the top row of my keyboard (From esc to F12 aka += button) got swapped permanently, I looked for a solution for an hour looking for a solution and you came with the CLUTCH. The button that worked for me was Fn and holding down space button for 3 seconds. It even reset my RGB colours on my keyboard so I knew it worked. Thanks again VERY MUCH.
