Cumulative updates May 2021

I work on computers all the time. Since buying this new HP, my older computer was PERFECTLY FINE! It has somehow messed up since I started with this computer.

You can only get help IF you allow them in your computer.

After a nightmare with buying coverage and their assistance, they went on to destroy my old one because I let them in. I finally got it repaired. THEN, without my approval they added Windows 10 in the middle of the night. I had to get it repaired AGAIN.

I am very afraid of them and their service orders and their stupid contracts. I think they make it nearly impossible to have a functional computer a few days before your contract runs out.

NOW with this brand new HP computer I am extremely concerned for them to do anything to my computer. Most of the NEW apps included with this computer DO NOT WORK. I know this by following their instructions on how to do something and I don't even have what they suggest doing. NOT THERE!

I'm sick about this DYSFUNCTIONAL Windows 10 and nearly every APP DOES NOT WORK. So, how does one get someone to talk to instead of allowing them to go in and out of my computer as they desire? I did sign on earlier just trying, but then they continued in my computer and I did not get a reply.

I can't get anything done. I just want to warn others IF you decide to get a new computer, I would recommend reporting Windows 10 to your state Governor for selling a computer with missing tools to complete what you need. I could go back and use my what was in perfect condition, but now it's not. I think the FCC, FTC, state governor complaints should be in order. They just throw out a piece of junk and we either give them money or we live with it.

It also appears you can no longer buy a software, you have to buy it once a year and renew it. You get too many apps it appears you might just need a hefty bank account!

Do you have absolutely any idea of how ridiculously difficult it can be to contact support and report a bug directly? I understand there are an incredible amount of users of Windows 10, but boy is it difficult to through to the "workaround" to even have a chance to report a bug. It's actually insane. Though I do prefer Windows, I'd certainly prefer Linux over any of this.

Here are my more recent qualms:

In the past, there have been a serious issue with software and hardware issues regarding microphones and video capturing devices. I'm very appreciative those have been(mostly) solved)... However, there are still issues which are at least better.

Currently, after this most recent update, I cannot use the search bar under any circumstances. Though my computer is quite adept and capable of processing large amounts of information, it seems this recent update has undermined its ability to process as it should. The search bar is completely dysfunctional, both on the toolbar and in the file explorer. Furthermore, it seems it is taking an exorbitant amount of time to process basic tasks such as navigating the file explorer.

Please, please fix these issues as it's very difficult to keep up with any sort of work, much less leisure, in these circumstances. Also, the workaround one has to do to even get to a point of contacting an individual or team with a bug is absolutely fiendish. Understandably you wouldn't want your average Joe or Jane to report on issues that can be easily fixed, however those with knowledge or programming background should more easily be able to navigate this mighty crevasse.

In fact, for the longest time(which is now somewhat solved), I was completely unable to access the Microsoft store for unknown reasons even though my login information was correct. I was also not able to use Microsoft Help to any degree(and therefore could not submit any sort of bug report or access help), minus basic processes such as internet. Though I could (barely) do this through CMD much to my chagrin, it was very much irritating and still is to this day.

There has been something inherently wrong with Windows 10 and has been very common knowledge in the community since its release. Many bugs have been solved or at least being worked on greatly, but this particular update has really met my match if I dare say so. Not being able to easily access important files has most recently been the bane of my existence as I both work and "play" on my computer. I also have had many error messages stating that the something-or-another- WINDOWS - something-or-another - could not open X and Y. Many of these error messages make no sense as to why they would appear ( boy do I wish I had these error message #'s, and sorry I can't be of more help in that regard).

These issues need to be fixes, and not on my part. Please respond.

I recovered win 10 before installing the update, removed KB5003173, my computer was able to access the drives in the shared network in the same network. Then I turned off the automatic update of windows 10 and tried to manually install the update KB5003214, it was the same as before, could not see the shared drives in the same network. Just take it off!
Does anyone have the same device as mine?

I unfortunately applied the Windows 21H1 update today. Ever since, my laptop built-in microphone and speaker don't work. The devices are not getting detected in the device manager (even if I do a show hidden devices).

I tried to uninstall the drivers of detected sound devices (from device manager) but they are not automatically detected upon scan for hardware changes. I also tried to restart the system & audio services but it doesn't work.

Very unfortunately, I did not have system restore enabled. I have exams to attend from this laptop and I really think I did a mistake by trusting the updates. 

I am happy to connect over remote sharing solution (teamviewer / skype etc) to show the system. I have tried everything I could.

Is there any help please ?
