Working in IT myself I got a couple of reports during the last year about a quite interesting "thing" (I think it's some kind of scam scheme) called "AnyTech 365". It's not your "typical" Microsoft phone call scam but something quite a bit more sophisticated.
Interestingly there is/was only very limited information available on line.
The "thing" (suspected scam) goes like this:
Inexperienced users get prompted with misleading information (probably in the form of advertisement they don't recognize a such) which leads them to download some shady "pc repair software" (the name "Restoro" came up a couple of times). Once they run this software they are asked to contact a "support company" called AnyTech365. The people from AnyTech365 then try to sell them an expensive & long-running subscription for support services, usually costing a couple of hundred dollars (one "victim" reported that they even paid several thousand dollars).
Now the thing is: This company AnyTech365 which is located in Spain acts like a reputable business. So it's not some unknown Indian call center that disappears after a few weeks. They are registered and seem to be in for the long run - giving the impression of a "real" IT service provider. Just that their customers don't seem to become customers "voluntarily" but through very misleading sales practices.
At least this is what it looks like after gathering information from a couple of "victims".
Since there wasn't much information about this (suspected) scam scheme available I posted a similar thread like this in the German language Microsoft Community Forums in December. This lead to reports from more people who felt that they were scammed by AnyTech365 and also to a recation from a public relations person from Any Tech 365 who of course was claiming that they are a legitimate company. (However that person also referred to a certification agency called "App Esteem" which seems to be specialised in the "fake" certifictaion of very shady software - so we probably have to assume that a company that gets certidication from "App Esteem" is probably shady too.)
Anyway, since AnyTech365 seems to be active in a lot of languages & countries I thought that I also post this here in the English speaking community.
So we might get a bigger audience and can gather more information about this suspected scam.

Hopefully, as you stated in the German thread, the discussion stays as one of the top hits if people search for Anytech365. Also, I hope the majority of these same people take the reviews from Trustpilot with a pinch of salt and find the buried negative posts. Anytech's employees must have been working overtime to create 9000+ positive reviews!
How much did you pay? (I'm not very convinced you are real by the way)
My father in law was scammed by them and paid £650 for one years "cover" against threats etc. The software they installed was a combination of rebadged "proper" software, spyware, malware and assorted ****. Obvious intention to cause further problems and charge more money. My FIL is 80 years old. They are a disgrace.
I received an email from them today. I called before I thought to look on this forum.. I also didn't look at the email closely until I was on the call with them. LOL. The subject line. Tech is spelled "TEHC" then when I called the number, you could hear it was a commotion and sounded like people just talking. Then I gave the cancellation number. The individual told me I needed to be on my computer to go to the site to do the cancel. I said, if this is real, you dont need me to do that just cancel with the cancellation number you gave me. He then in a very hard to understand accent attempted to start screaming at me saying "I am helping you. You are the one that needs my help. I am trying to tell you what to do. " Just screaming at top of his lungs at me. I kept laughing at him and said I am reporting you to the Attorney General's Office and FBI for spoofing crimes. He kept trying to yell at me. I kept laughing and hung up. Definitely a scam.
I reported on line on the federal cyber crime site.

I am glad that you found the real company named Anytech 365 to be trustworthy and valid. My complaint regarded the scam-attempt email purporting to be from Anytech 365, which I recognized as a fake, whether or not there is a real company of that name. I also complain about the scam emails and phone calls purporting to be from Microsoft, which is obviously a long-standing valid company. My suggestion for safety reasons is never to respond directly to an ad, a phone call, or an email from any company, regardless of the topic, but to go, yourself, to the valid website of that company if you have any questions or might be interested in an offer of service. :)
I have had anytech365 for over 3 years now and plan on continually using them, they are awesome and most of the time I get guys from Australia so I can understand them. If I cannot understand someone I ask to speak with someone else. I have never had a problem with them and they have worked on 3 of my computers....
I do not believe them to be a scam...... They give you a code to use each time someone calls you, but if you call them then you know you have the right place. I have often had calls from men I do not understand and I keep asking for the code and they cannot give it to me so they are scammers..... but the company is solid as far as I am concerned....
