intel usb 3.1 extensible host controller not present in device manager

Hello Hello,

Hopefully one will be able to help me. I bought an external ssd (crucial x8) i have a laptop with a USB C 3.1 Gen 2 and when i check usb controllers in device manager i only have the 3.0 usb host. look at the screen cap please . The x8 promesses up to 1050mb/sec but since windows sees my 3.1 gen 2 type c usb as a 3.0 usb im only getting half the speed .. I d like to get full speed .. any genius in the room pls ive tried many options with no success.. (going in bios , reinstalling this and that, update drivers..) I just cant get the 3.1 controllers driver to load or else plss plsss help Thank you

    You are really making me work. This is the information on the controller I got from DevManView, a great little tool from Nirsoft. I hope it helps.

    I also found another driver in there belonging to my antivirus program (ESET NOD32) which really surprised me. I guess it wants to know when any device is connected on that USB bus. I know a message pops up when that happens.

    Hi are you able to see which file or files are responsible for handling your USB connections. I’d really like to get my hands on that USB 3.1 extensible controller so I can try it.

    That is normal. Windows is recognizing it as an external drive. It is the same as mine. I tried to paste in an image but the web site won't keep it. Tried two different browsers.
