Lost all audio after May, 2021 Windows 10 update!!!!

At some point, after the May update I lost all PC audio! I've done all the 'no sound' troubleshooting suggestions from Microsoft and everywhere else. I reinstalled all audio drivers, you name it. I even shut down my MSI onboard HD audio in bios and purchased a

Soundblaster Audigy RX sound card, No dice. bought Driver Booster Pro and updated them drivers. Wasted cash!

It's as if the sound just can't get to my output jacks. Foobar doesn't work, NO audio!! You can see the level meters pulse when you test the sound devices. When I unplug the connectors going to my preamp, they pop and buzz so I know the cables to the analog stuff are hot.

I NEED HELP AND I NEED IT FAST!! I'm starting to TWITCH!! I believe it's Microsoft's doing.

    GrainbarinX, you are not the only one with this issue, I have tried the same you have done and stopped when I was asked to re-install windows. If you boot your machine with a Linux USB drive you will notice that the audio worked properly. Microsoft support spent about an hour trying to fix this with me but in vain. HP support guys came to check the machine, booted it with an older version of windows and the sound worked. It is the new update that messed up everything ... or ... the audio hardware manufacturer's driver is not compatible with Windows 21H1. Now for all my online meetings and conferences, I need to use my phone and PC. I am a sitting d u c k for now and lack of ideas.

    I'm glad to help, Mike. I wish this one was easier. But at least we eliminated everything else so you don't feel changing hardware is unreasonable.

    Keep me posted on your progress as I will be here to help until the case is resolved.

    Have you tried all available drivers - old and new - for the sound card, from the manufacturer's Support Downloads website?

    If so and it still doesn't work after a Clean Install then I agree that it seems to be a problem with the motherboard if other sound card works.

    Clean install completed. NO SOUND STILL!

    Unless you have some new idea, it is looking like it could be a motherboard problem.

    Like I said, I've installed a new sound card to try and solve this so I don't suspect that. I have the latest bios firm wear.

    That is all I know to try.
