At some point, after the May update I lost all PC audio! I've done all the 'no sound' troubleshooting suggestions from Microsoft and everywhere else. I reinstalled all audio drivers, you name it. I even shut down my MSI onboard HD audio in bios and purchased a
Soundblaster Audigy RX sound card, No dice. bought Driver Booster Pro and updated them drivers. Wasted cash!
It's as if the sound just can't get to my output jacks. Foobar doesn't work, NO audio!! You can see the level meters pulse when you test the sound devices. When I unplug the connectors going to my preamp, they pop and buzz so I know the cables to the analog stuff are hot.
I NEED HELP AND I NEED IT FAST!! I'm starting to TWITCH!! I believe it's Microsoft's doing.

This fixed my sound issue with 21h1, but the Ctrl Alt Del is still there (but I can live with that)

MicroSoft's recent Windows 10 updates have really caused more problems than I can see have been fixed. Is the B-team working Windows 10 now? Are they trying to drive people away to upgrade?

To open 'Windows Registry' in the command prompt, press and hold Windows key + R. In the 'Command Prompt', type regedit, then press Enter. The 'Registry Editor' will then pop up and you will want to click HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. Then SYSTEM. Then CurrentControlSet. Then Control. Then Terminal Server. Then WinStations. That is how you get to the actual 'Windows Registry' with the 'Binary Data' and 'Values.' Now, you are going to want to Export the Winstation .REG Folder by clicking File Export. Save to a safe place.
At this point you are safe to create your own separate .reg document. Right click on the desktop, click new, click text document. Make sure to edit the end of the document to .reg from .txt. Then copy and paste inside the .reg document you just created, which you can name 'Fix_Audio.'

After saving, Execute the file by clicking on it and it will automatically update the Console Security .reg data inside the Registry Editor. You will see the number change beside the ConsoleSecurity. Restart your computer. Boom...shahckah lahckah! Your Sound should be back :)
Just want to say this worked for me and thank you very much to whoever the genius was that figured this out. The issue has been plaguing me for months and that ease of access workaround was driving me crazy.
To pay it forward, this registry edit originally did not work for me and I don't have much experience editing registries so I kept getting the error "Cannot import file: The specified file is not a registry script."
The problem was because when I copy and pasted, there was an extra space above "Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00" in the file. That needs to be removed for this fix to work.
Then the audio will continue to be disabled until you restart your computer. Once you done so, it should work normally and perfectly.
