It took considerably longer and more restarts than the automatic updates. On the fourth restart, it only got to 60% (usually it's 98%) and I got the "undoing" message. Has any official Microsoft statement ever been issued about this? The last time it updated, it reported it had done so successfully (by the KB5010342 on February 9) but that still shows as waiting to restart (again) for update KB5010342. Of course it has not allowed me to pause updates for months and goes through this cycle every few days. I'm happy to provide logs to anyone official who wants them.

I have a same trouble with someone's PC, his computer shows progress of update by 20%, but then I unconditionally press the power button and his PC now stuck in the "Undoing changes" status and nothing happened. the screen also blank and I can't press the shift + f8. do you know how to repair the problem or undo the update? Thanks.

Hi, may I know how is your software condition for now? is your windows problem had been repaired? and how do you do to "rid" the undoing message? because I have the same problem

Basically, people

If you tried everything and it didn't work, leave as it is for a month (pause/schedule the updates)

The succeeding updates usually get the problem fixed

Welcome to the Microsoft Community!

1-Restart the computer and continue pressing the F8 or Shift + F8 key; the advanced boot screen will open in front of you.

2- Now select "Choose an option" and choose the "Solve problems" option, then go to "Advanced options" and press the number corresponding to Safe mode.

3- After booting the system in safe mode, open the command prompt and run these commands

net stop wuauserv

4- Now you need to go to a mass distribution and delete your content. Go to the next path to find a mass distribution.

C: Windows SoftwareDistribution
Delete all files and subfolders in this folder.

Now restart your computer and the updates could not be completed. Undo changes, do not turn off the computer in Windows 10 will be fixed.

Try the steps above in safe mode.

If it doesn't work, try the solutions below:

If you have an antivirus installed or more than one, I suggest you uninstall it through the Control Panel under the Programs and Features icon or temporarily disable it through the antivirus settings itself.

Note: Many antiviruses have their own removal tool. Visit the Installed Software website for more information. Your system will not be left unprotected because Windows has its own security system that automatically enables it as soon as you restart your computer.

Perform troubleshooting:

1- Go to search, type in troubleshooting and open troubleshooting.
2- Select Show all in the left panel.
3- Open Windows Update and follow further instructions.
4- Restart your computer and try to install the update again.

Hide Windows update

1- Open the Control Panel and click the Windows Update icon.
2- After Windows updates or you check for updates, click link ... update (s) is available.
3- Right-click on a listed Windows Update that you want to hide, then click Hide Update.
4- If prompted by UAC, then click Yes or enter the administrator password.
5- You will now notice that the Windows Update eyepiece is grayed out. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to hide another Windows Update. When finished, click / tap OK.
