Basically, people

If you tried everything and it didn't work, leave as it is for a month (pause/schedule the updates)

The succeeding updates usually get the problem fixed

Hello how are you?

Welcome to the Microsoft Community!

1-Restart the computer and continue pressing the F8 or Shift + F8 key; the advanced boot screen will open in front of you.

2- Now select "Choose an option" and choose the "Solve problems" option, then go to "Advanced options" and press the number corresponding to Safe mode.

3- After booting the system in safe mode, open the command prompt and run these commands

net stop wuauserv

4- Now you need to go to a mass distribution and delete your content. Go to the next path to find a mass distribution.

C: Windows SoftwareDistribution
Delete all files and subfolders in this folder.

Now restart your computer and the updates could not be completed. Undo changes, do not turn off the computer in Windows 10 will be fixed.

Try the steps above in safe mode.

If it doesn't work, try the solutions below:

If you have an antivirus installed or more than one, I suggest you uninstall it through the Control Panel under the Programs and Features icon or temporarily disable it through the antivirus settings itself.

Note: Many antiviruses have their own removal tool. Visit the Installed Software website for more information. Your system will not be left unprotected because Windows has its own security system that automatically enables it as soon as you restart your computer.

Perform troubleshooting:

1- Go to search, type in troubleshooting and open troubleshooting.
2- Select Show all in the left panel.
3- Open Windows Update and follow further instructions.
4- Restart your computer and try to install the update again.

Hide Windows update

1- Open the Control Panel and click the Windows Update icon.
2- After Windows updates or you check for updates, click link ... update (s) is available.
3- Right-click on a listed Windows Update that you want to hide, then click Hide Update.
4- If prompted by UAC, then click Yes or enter the administrator password.
5- You will now notice that the Windows Update eyepiece is grayed out. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to hide another Windows Update. When finished, click / tap OK.

I await news.

I've tried this both with shift f8 and f8 on restart and can't get my computer to boot in advanced start menu. What can I try now. I'm very frustrated with my issue. The computer keeps telling me to reboot because it has updates but it keeps telling me it can't complete updates and is undoing changes. I factory reset the computer thinking it would resolve the issue but nothing I've tried seems to work

    Hi Luciano.

sorry, tried everything in this section many times. deleted softwaredistribution many times.

    nothing works.

the fact that this update failure occurred is a fault in windows 10.

    without a doubt.

users shouldnt be subjected to this mishap, causing so much unecessary stress.

Microsoft should urgently fix this failure in the next update.. not much point sending loyal users continuous updates that dont work

I am getting rid og my windows devices, and stick to apple

    Hi Luciano,

I have tried all of the described steps and NOTHING fixes this issue.

I am confused by "1- Open the Control Panel and click the Windows Update icon."

My control panel screen does not contain a Windows Update icon.

When I run Windows Update under the Settings screen, I can see where the updates are downloaded, but there does not seem to

be any way to right-click on the updates to hide them.

PLEASE - I need to get this issue resolved before it drives me nuts!

    Thanks,

    Mike DiSante
