From the Blog:

In the current environment, we know that you continue to rely on your PCs more than ever. As a result, we are initially taking a measured seeker-based approach to the rollout of the May 2021 Update. We are throttling availability up over the coming weeks to ensure a reliable download experience for all, so the update may not be offered to you right away. Additionally, some devices might have a compatibility issue for which a safeguard hold is in place. In these cases, we will not offer the update until we are confident that you will have a good update experience.

Since the last update my computer has been crashing with DRIVERS_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. The crash report says that the Windows Protection Platform and the WWA Host stop working. The other apps that stop working look random. I have searched for an answer to this problem and tried many things. I have manually updated drivers, changed the contents of files, installed third party fixers, recovered Windows and did a total fresh reinstall were i reformatted all of the onboard disks. If any body has a better solution to this problem, please let me know.

Justin, for a quicker response you should probably start your own thread with a problem specific title as this one is about the recent May 2021 update.

Hi a few days ago this update was installed at mu laptop May 11, 2021—KB5003173 (OS Builds 19041.985, 19042.985, and 19043.985)

I had a problem first time I started it after the update, it didn't com up properly with the right settings. Most sorted out, but still my start button and search window on my taskbar don't working.

Any suggestions? Is uninstall the best solution?

    Best

    Hi BJorn,

    Yes, try uninstalling the update.

On the Login screen, press and hold the Shift key, and choose Restart until Recovery environment opens.

    Choose Advanced options>troubleshoot>Uninstall updates.

Select uninstall the latest Quality update.

If that does not help, consider asking a new question.
