Laptop screen going black randomly.

Hello! I just did the repair install with the option "keep my files and apps". I also noticed that I get "status_acces_violation" a lot in Chrome. Also when I play a heavy game like GTAV no problem happens, but when I leave it idle or do simple tasks like browsing the web then it black screens.

I passed MemTest86 with 0 errors. I checked my SSD - no problems. Crystal Disk Info gives me 94% health on my C drive. I have also done a cpu test in AIDA64 Extreme - no errors. What worries me a bit is that I also ran a cpu test in OCCT and it gave me errors. FurMark gave me 5129 points on 1920x1080p resolution on my NVIDIA gpu. Should I maybe try to update my BIOS?

With the permission of all involved, here are my comments, which might help to solve the problem.

Most laptops can turn off the backlight separately. If you can guess something on the monitor when there is backlight, it is possible that the LED backlight is switched off. In this case you can try the following key combinations:

    Many laptops have an Fn key (often blue) between the Ctrl and Windows keys. With this you can use the special functions of your laptop.

    Finds the function keys (the same color as the Fn key). There are two buttons that could help you with your problem: Monitor On / Off (with Asus I think it was Fn + F7) and the empty sun symbol (often right arrow key or up arrow key). With Asus, I think so remind by pressing the Fn + F6 keys together.

    Presses the Fn key and the monitor on / off key. If that doesn't work, hold down the Fn key and press the empty sun icon several times.

If you still do not get a picture, a second screen or a television or projector may be the cause or solution of your problem. Most laptops these days support a second output device via HDMI (older models use VGA). Even if you have not connected a second monitor, Windows can mistakenly assume that you are. Therefore, look at the settings to see if it is on two monitors.

As far as I can remember with Asus, by pressing the two keys "Fn" + "F8" you can switch the display of your laptop to the external monitor. Please change accordingly.

Even if it has already been checked from your side, I still have the assumption that it is either a BIOS update or / and VGA driver.

As far as RAM check is concerned, you could call up the system information or download the tool CPU-Z.

At the same time I understand that you also run games, maybe you also use DirectX.

I would check whether the update is up to date.

I've already connected my laptop to a TV before. When it freezes or blackscreens the TV disconnects. Also the system stays turned on (and even sometimes it restarts itself when it blackscreens) but the fn-key shortcuts don't work.

Yes, if there is a BIOS Update than as I wrote in my first post it should be updated, along with any drivers from the manufacturer that are newer or better than the ones installed in Device Manager.

This makes me wonder how many other steps I wrote were skipped. Please do not skip any steps. We often find out later that the fix was the skipped step. If you need help performing any step I will help.
