This is a summary of the cumulative updates released on March 9th for all the supported consumer releases of Windows 10.

Known issues with KB5000802 and KB5000808

Symptom Workaround
System and user certificates might be lost when updating a device from Windows 10, version 1809 or later to a later version of Windows 10. Devices will only be impacted if they have already installed any Latest cumulative update (LCU) released September 16, 2020 or later and then proceed to update to a later version of Windows 10 from media or an installation source which does not have an LCU released October 13, 2020 or later integrated. This primarily happens when managed devices are updated using outdated bundles or media through an update management tool such as Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) or Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager. This might also happen when using outdated physical media or ISO images that do not have the latest updates integrated. <br> <br>NoteDevices using Windows Update for Business or that connect directly to Windows Update are not impacted. Any device connecting to Windows Update should always receive the latest versions of the feature update, including the latest LCU, without any extra steps. If you have already encountered this issue on your device, you can mitigate it within the uninstall window by going back to your previous version of Windows using the instructions here. The uninstall window might be 10 or 30 days depending on the configuration of your environment and the version you’re updating to. You will then need to update to the later version of Windows 10 after the issue is resolved in your environment. NoteWithin the uninstall window, you can increase the number of days you have to go back to your previous version of Windows 10 by using the DISM command /Set-OSUninstallWindow. You must make this change beforethe default uninstall window has lapsed. For more information, see DISM operating system uninstall command-line options. <br> <br>We are working on a resolution and will provide updated bundles and refreshed media in the coming weeks.
(KB5000802 only) When using the Microsoft Japanese Input Method Editor (IME) to enter Kanji characters in an app that automatically allows the input of Furigana characters, you might not get the correct Furigana characters. You might need to enter the Furigana characters manually. <br> <br>NoteThe affected apps are using the ImmGetCompositionString() function. We are working on a resolution and will provide an update in an upcoming release.
After installing this update, you might receive an APC_INDEX_MISMATCH error with a blue screen when attempting to print to certain printers in some apps. Issue resolved with an out-of-band update.
After installing updates released March 9, 2021 or March 15, 2021, you might get unexpected results when printing from some apps. Issues might include:<br><ul style="margin-right: 0; margin-left: 0; color: rgba(54, 54, 54, 1)"><li style="margin-left: 0"><p style="color: rgba(30, 30, 30, 1)">Elements of the document might print as solid black/color boxes or might be missing, including barcodes, QR codes, and graphics elements, such as logos.</p></li><li style="margin-left: 0"><p style="color: rgba(30, 30, 30, 1)">Table lines might be missing. Other alignment or formatting issues might also be present.</p></li><li style="margin-left: 0"><p style="color: rgba(30, 30, 30, 1)">Printing from some apps or to some printers might result in a blank page or label.</p></li></ul> Resolved - Install KB5001649 from the links below.

    Even when i tried to update the pc. The PC still crashes, Either i am playing a game or surfing the internet.  I tried numerous times to uninstall the updates and install them again, I even tried to do a fresh install of the OS and i still get the same problem.   Is there gonna be a fix for this because, I'm getting a little irritated by times.  Posted this problem on here before and, I got no answer as to what i am supposed to do.  There is nothing wrong with the PC because, I just bought it several months ago ( 4 Months)

    Hello. I was told to install Update 20H2 to maintain the right to security updates, as my previous version would reach its EOS (end of support) date. The problem is, Update 20H2 takes around 5 hours to install for small features such as a uncustomizable Dark Mode. Then when one tries to start their computer again the next day, the update suddenly no longer works and uninstalls itself via the Undoing Changes Made to your Computer notice. Initially, I thought the process would brick my computer into a loop and trust me, with the coronavirus around, you don't want to have to buy another computer. Luckily, it only took an half-an-hour. I do recommend that the end of life for version 1909 should be delayed while you fix these crucial errors and reduce the install time.

    My computer just popped up and said my version of windows 10 will soon reach end of service and I need to restart to install a newer version.  I am under a lot of stress and my computer works great and is only about a year old - I do NOT need to end up with some mess where things don't work due to an update!   One time one of your updates caused us to have to take the computer to someone for service who had to reinstall everything! I don't see microsoft offering to compensate us for the costs of that either!     have lost confidence in your updates not causing more problems, I don't even understand half of the long drawn out "solutions" that are mentioned and I don't WANT an update!  Why do I have to have it??

    Hello,

    Couple of small problems, mostly inconveniences :

    • Each windows update switches my desktop background, I had to spend an hour finding it again, please fix this.
    • My login screen's default avatar is now a low res image for some reason. It used to be the highres version.
    • I seem to recall that my login screen used to be able to display non english letters, like: áÁ. Now it only displays the english versions of these letters: aA.

    And my biggest problem by far: Cortana is on my computer. Glossing over that I did not ask for it (and that I consider it a spyware): I can not use it, because my system is not set to one of Cortana's supported languages (and I don't want to change it). Cortana is also constantly running, tying up resources, has a dedicated icon on the taskbar and is even displayed every time I switch between windows using ALT+TAB no matter how many times I close it. Icing on the cake is that I obviously speak english (like most of the people) and yet I can not use it, because it rejects every input by default.

    So it is rather hard not to see Cortana as a spyware:

    • You installed it against my will.
    • It is constantly running.
    • It ties up resources.
    • It provides no functionality what so ever.

    I can see two possible solutions: either let me choose and use one of the supported languages for Cortana (like how every single app lets the user choose the language) or more preferably: please help me uninstall it (and I mean completely, I want no traces of it on the C drive nor in the registry, I do not just want a workaround like disabling its processes, I want it gone).

    HI there, i have a issue with the display after this update. (KB5000808). I am using dell laptop 5558, with intel hd graphics 4400.

    Unfortunately I have no restore point to restore my laptop. If I try to uninstall the update it keep updating upon restart. My pc has the latest version of drivers. Do you recommend any fixes on Subject matter.
