[Windows update installing the new Edge browser] Update KB4559309 Makes Computer Unbearably Slow

pc very very slow and not very good start up since new windows 10 update its getting very frustrating

what is confusing me is why an update to windows or microsoft program would cause the internet to "run slow"? as it seems it is. isnt the internet a seperate entity from the programs i would use on the computer to use the internet? yet since the update was on the computer program, as you are saying for windows or microsoft, can someone explain to me why or how the ability to have the internet run normal on my separate phone or tablet seems to now have glitches in it sparatically?  my phone will be fine and then it says it doesnt have internet connection when it clearly does. or it says its connected but doesnt have internet. or one app on the phone wont run saying i am not connected to the internet which is bull as 3 other apps are running from it at the time. is everyone sure it is this supposed update that is the issue? why would my phone have issues with internet since this began. but only sometimes. or with some apps. or the error messages and others that pop up at times are plainly lying as it is sometimes doing what it claims it cant do because of an issue its not having. it seems very odd to me somehow. seems more to me like someone is playing inside the whole system somewhere. im having trouble believing the program writers would be that dim witted also to put out a program without testing it somehow in the first place or that they would have missed it having such catastrophic effects on everything to anyone that used it. does not make sense. can someone please explain this before i loose my own marbles over it?

   one more thing, on the night this started for me i had called to make a payment on my internet service which was due soon and i was using it at the time but i remember thinking it was odd that the recording said my internet had been temporarily turned off. Yet it clearly was not.

Same here. On a new PC, after installing this update, I'm stuck on welcome for over 2 minutes and browsing, app loading times have increased. tried to run system restore but Lenovo (in their wisdom) set the max size of system restore to 0%.

Hopefully this gets sorted as no installation media came with the system. I'm back on a 5 year old Vaio which runs 5 times faster.

same with me, too. i didn't get the KB4559309 update in Windows Update but I installed it manually via the microsoft.com/edge website. and when restarting Windows 10 May 2020 Update Version 2004 login to Windows 10 Desktop takes 3:55 (3 minutes 55 seconds).

Note: I measured it through the Stopwatch on my Android phone.

As far as I know, Windows 10 November 2019 Update Version 1909 is not that long. (as far as I remember).

In the future, I hope there will be some improvements in the upcoming Windows 10 (20H2) or the upcoming Microsoft Edge Update. in order to log in to the Windows 10 Desktop as it should be.

i agree with you, something a little stranger than a botched update program seems to be in play here
