[Windows update installing the new Edge browser] Update KB4559309 Makes Computer Unbearably Slow

Last night I updated my windows 10 pro using KB:4559309. Since then my computer performance has absolutely tanked. my startup time is probably triple, loading any window has a few second delay.

I attempted to uninstall the update however windows tells me that it is required and cannot be removed.

This update has essentially rendered my brand new computer useless.

Please help!

I have spoken to Missy Quarry, from the Edge team, and they are investigating this problem. However, they really need more details submitted though the Feedback Hub on Windows 10.

To submit feedback, please go to start > Feedback Hub.

You will need to click onto report a problem. Then enter your feedback/problem you are having with Microsoft Edge. On the categories you will need to make sure you have the following drop down options selected in the image underneath:

The more detail you can submit, the better it will be for the Edge team to find out what is causing this issue. So the detail box that has the test comment, should detail everything you are experiencing.

No I haven't, I built this PC myself. I do have intel RST as I have a raid mirror accelerated by a SSD. But the bottom line is that it has worked properly for a long time until ver 2004. The update to 2004 was offered to me via the normal update so I assumed (wrongly as it turned out) that my PC was compatible with 2004.

With my PC it wasn't the Edge update that caused the slow down. I updated Edge and my PC was acting normally, at the correct speed. A few days later I updated to 2004 and could not boot, I was left looking at the motherboard manufacturers logo with no spinning circle. I had to turn off Fast Start-Up to enable me to use my computer. Now, having booted up, very much slower than before 2004, my PC seems to be running normally. I have fed this back on the Feedback Hub.

So there may be two (or more) problems to resolve?

Yes because Microsoft released Windows 10 2004 update two times the first one is full of errors and i think maybe u download the first update to your pc and that might be the reason u r facing that issue and the second update they released on 31st,July,2020 which is the improved version of Windows 10 2004 version so the first thing should do is that reinstall older version windows by formatting c drive and when windows installed completely in your pc then update it to the latest 2004 update version
