[Windows update installing the new Edge browser] Update KB4559309 Makes Computer Unbearably Slow

Last night I updated my windows 10 pro using KB:4559309. Since then my computer performance has absolutely tanked. my startup time is probably triple, loading any window has a few second delay.

I attempted to uninstall the update however windows tells me that it is required and cannot be removed.

This update has essentially rendered my brand new computer useless.

Please help!

I have spoken to Missy Quarry, from the Edge team, and they are investigating this problem. However, they really need more details submitted though the Feedback Hub on Windows 10. 

To submit feedback, please go to start > Feedback Hub. 

You will need to click onto report a problem. Then enter your feedback/problem you are having with Microsoft Edge. On the categories you will need to make sure you have the following drop down options selected in the image underneath:

The more detail you can submit, the better it will be for the Edge team to find out what is causing this issue. So the detail box that has the test comment, should detail everything you are experiencing.

    the following suggestion is only applicable if you windows installed to an SSD.

    I have found that windows start having major slowdowns, even on new PC's if the SSD windows is installed on drops below 100Gb's of free space. for me this is particularly annoying as my system has a 256 Gb SSD. meaning I only have about 136 Gb of space for windows, office, and one or two programs. this means I have no space to do any Hyper-V or virtual machines, no WSL2, and certainly no games. I have even had to turn off windows system restore recently because windows itself has grown to the point where I was crossing that 100gb limit with it turned on.

    check how much free space you have on C:\ if its below 100gb, that there could be your issue.
