[Windows update installing the new Edge browser] Update KB4559309 Makes Computer Unbearably Slow

Last night I updated my windows 10 pro using KB:4559309. Since then my computer performance has absolutely tanked. my startup time is probably triple, loading any window has a few second delay.

I attempted to uninstall the update however windows tells me that it is required and cannot be removed.

This update has essentially rendered my brand new computer useless.

Please help!

Hey there, everyone

I have spoken to Missy Quarry, from the Edge team, and they are investigating this problem. However, they really need more details submitted though the Feedback Hub on Windows 10.

To submit feedback, please go to start > Feedback Hub.

You will need to click onto report a problem. Then enter your feedback/problem you are having with Microsoft Edge. On the categories you will need to make sure you have the following drop down options selected in the image underneath:

The more detail you can submit, the better it will be for the Edge team to find out what is causing this issue. So the detail box that has the test comment, should detail everything you are experiencing.

Hope this helps,

Regards,

    Rhaine,

Are you not aware that update 4559309 is the one that updates EDGE and you can't uninstall it?  Unfortunately it's true which irritates me no end. It's my computer I should be able to remove whatever I want barring OS, which EDGE is not and should never be.

Now I can't get to either of my .mil OWA sites because of this update that I can't uninstall.

My basic problem is that I never use and never want to use EDGE and I don't want it updated either. My computer is ridiculously slow and I can't uninstall the update either.

Microsoft, please allow us to permanently disable EDGE and block all of its snail-inducing updates.

Since this update downloaded, my mouse cursor disappears but clicks on tabs randomly, closing things, selecting text, deleting text, opening and closing programs - it's an absolute mess.  I've tried everything suggested on this thread but I'm unable to uninstall the update. My computer is unusable at this point.  I think my only option is to try to restore back.  I've spent countless hours trying to deal with this, to no avail.

Obviously there are issues with this, and I'm utterly gobsmacked that on the release notes it states "no known issues".

Use windows System Restore ... roll back to a point before the update took place... this update wiped my desktop....now have disabled ALL updates through gpedit.msc

Another Microsoft update that has caused so many issues ... just trying to force people to use thier inferior browser

I have the same issues. Updated today. Straight after I booted up a game and it's running at 10-20 fps. Tested some other games and they are all the same. Why can i not uninstall this rubbish like other updates?
