[Windows update installing the new Edge browser] Update KB4559309 Makes Computer Unbearably Slow

Last night I updated my windows 10 pro using KB:4559309. Since then my computer performance has absolutely tanked. my startup time is probably triple, loading any window has a few second delay.

I attempted to uninstall the update however windows tells me that it is required and cannot be removed.

This update has essentially rendered my brand new computer useless.

Please help!

Hey there, everyone

I have spoken to Missy Quarry, from the Edge team, and they are investigating this problem. However, they really need more details submitted though the Feedback Hub on Windows 10.

To submit feedback, please go to start > Feedback Hub.

You will need to click onto report a problem. Then enter your feedback/problem you are having with Microsoft Edge. On the categories you will need to make sure you have the following drop down options selected in the image underneath:

The more detail you can submit, the better it will be for the Edge team to find out what is causing this issue. So the detail box that has the test comment, should detail everything you are experiencing.

Hope this helps,

Regards,

    Hey there, PaulPChou

    got you. :)

How do we know which issues should be sent via the feedback hub and which issues can be sent directly via Edge?

If you have downloaded the new update (KB:4559309) and are facing:

    • Slow performance levels,
    • Crashes,
    • Long bootup times,
    • and this has all started right after this update.

Then please report it in the Feedback hub, as outlined in the answer.

If there are any other issues, such as:

    • Websites not displaying correctly in Edge
    • You have a feature suggestion,
    • and any other problem you can think of that you have tried to troubleshoot but had no success with

Then report it using the feedback option within Edge.

    Hope this helps,

    Nathan,

Try uninstalling Edge and use another browser like Chrome or IE

If it does help you it's a app problem..

    I am not a techy,

I am just sharing my knowledge

I have an even worse problem.  My computer updated Microsoft Edge this week and it totally wiped out my hard drive.  I have no photos, no documents and my desktop has lots of apps that are gone.  They appear in the Apps but will not load.  I am really upset.  I don't want to buy a new computer.  What can be done?  I also tried to uninstall Microsoft Edge but was also unable to do it.
