[Windows update installing the new Edge browser] Update KB4559309 Makes Computer Unbearably Slow

Last night I updated my windows 10 pro using KB:4559309. Since then my computer performance has absolutely tanked. my startup time is probably triple, loading any window has a few second delay.

I attempted to uninstall the update however windows tells me that it is required and cannot be removed.

This update has essentially rendered my brand new computer useless.

Please help!

Hey there, everyone

I have spoken to Missy Quarry, from the Edge team, and they are investigating this problem. However, they really need more details submitted though the Feedback Hub on Windows 10.

To submit feedback, please go to start > Feedback Hub.

You will need to click onto report a problem. Then enter your feedback/problem you are having with Microsoft Edge. On the categories you will need to make sure you have the following drop down options selected in the image underneath:

The more detail you can submit, the better it will be for the Edge team to find out what is causing this issue. So the detail box that has the test comment, should detail everything you are experiencing.

Hope this helps,

Regards,

Same issue for me, KB4559309 installed overnight and today I can no longer uninstall or modify applications, performance of the OS in general has degraded massively, and I'm unable to load the System Restore screen.  I'm not sure what this KB has touched, but it certainly feels wider than just Edge (which I really don't want on my system)!!

I tried the uninstall 2004 and it completely crashed my system.  I had to do a full recover back to 1909.  I hope Microsoft is looking into this.  I have an HP Pavilion.  I've read from HP that many units were BSOD when upgrading to 2004.  My son has a home built system running Windows 10.  He had the same issue and had to uninstall 2004 and go back 1909.
