[Windows update installing the new Edge browser] Update KB4559309 Makes Computer Unbearably Slow

Last night I updated my windows 10 pro using KB:4559309. Since then my computer performance has absolutely tanked. my startup time is probably triple, loading any window has a few second delay.

I attempted to uninstall the update however windows tells me that it is required and cannot be removed.

This update has essentially rendered my brand new computer useless.

Please help!

Hey there, everyone

I have spoken to Missy Quarry, from the Edge team, and they are investigating this problem. However, they really need more details submitted though the Feedback Hub on Windows 10.

To submit feedback, please go to start > Feedback Hub.

You will need to click onto report a problem. Then enter your feedback/problem you are having with Microsoft Edge. On the categories you will need to make sure you have the following drop down options selected in the image underneath:

The more detail you can submit, the better it will be for the Edge team to find out what is causing this issue. So the detail box that has the test comment, should detail everything you are experiencing.

Hope this helps,

Regards,

I had major problems with both the 2004 and edge updates on 3 of my 4 machines. The updates are getting more and more complicated for less and less improvements. Where possible I have rolled back to 1909 but the edge update won't roll back as it seems to be more than just an edge issue (particularly when you try to remove it and it says can't remove as it is needed by something else). I am now waiting in the hope Microsoft will sort it out soon. In the meantime I will be saving hard for a Mac with its promised own chip/motherboard. I have tried all the suggestions offered by the various experts on the forum and all that happens is it gets more and more frustrating (I do thank you for trying to help). Hopefully if enough of us moan they at MS will do something, but we really should not be in this position. So on this subject I will now end my involvement...good luck to all of you with this issue

Thanks Paul (PaulWaite1) . So I just googled for updating firmware and drivers for Suface Book 2, as I have the same (even though mine had 16 gigs Ram , the performance was twitching-ly slow hanging-up frequently.)  with this Link ( https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=56261)  and the performance did Improve.(significantly).

Also I did let other Security updates of Microsoft go-ahead.

Putting this here, so that , if anyone can try this Solution (of updating driver's and firmware) through these manual updates and check to see if this works.

Finger's crossed! Microsoft is coming up with updates on July 11th for 1909, 2004 etc. Hopingly they will find a clean solution.

Thank you for this suggestion, Paul !

Mine wasn't even 10 days. I couldn't restore or uninstall 30 mins after the update. There is no way this update was just for Edge. It completely messed up my system. System is running poorly but I've at least got games running again after downloading software to completely removed all gfx drivers, and any remnants of, and then reinstalling. What a joke!
