[Windows update installing the new Edge browser] Update KB4559309 Makes Computer Unbearably Slow

Last night I updated my windows 10 pro using KB:4559309. Since then my computer performance has absolutely tanked. my startup time is probably triple, loading any window has a few second delay.

I attempted to uninstall the update however windows tells me that it is required and cannot be removed.

This update has essentially rendered my brand new computer useless.

Please help!

I have spoken to Missy Quarry, from the Edge team, and they are investigating this problem. However, they really need more details submitted though the Feedback Hub on Windows 10. 

To submit feedback, please go to start > Feedback Hub. 

You will need to click onto report a problem. Then enter your feedback/problem you are having with Microsoft Edge. On the categories you will need to make sure you have the following drop down options selected in the image underneath:

The more detail you can submit, the better it will be for the Edge team to find out what is causing this issue. So the detail box that has the test comment, should detail everything you are experiencing.

    YES THANK YOU PATRICK - Bitlocker is borked for me right now too... thought I was losing my mind but I have a 12TB external DAS that writes at ~160MB/s unencrypted, and used to write at 130MB/s with bitlocker encryption, and suddenly I'm down to 7-15MB/s all of a sudden...  literally 1/10th of normal (reads are fine) Thought my hardware was failing & I wiped everything, rebuilt my array, and until i got to the encryption couldn't find a thing wrong... reinstalled my OS for troubleshooting, so I can't roll back and now I'm looking at about 9 days of copying to get my data back... guess I have to install Linux tomorrow to get back on my feet...  After further testing I found one of my 3 machines is still running 1909 and works perfectly...

    I kept poking around and it looks like the update somehow interfered with the installation of my motherboard chipset drivers.

    After re-installing the chipset drivers everything seems to be operating normally.

    Thanks for sharing PaulWaite1, that would make sense given the issues and full freeze I have been experiencing (won't come back without hard restart), so checking mine now as a starting point.
