[Windows update installing the new Edge browser] Update KB4559309 Makes Computer Unbearably Slow

Last night I updated my windows 10 pro using KB:4559309. Since then my computer performance has absolutely tanked. my startup time is probably triple, loading any window has a few second delay.

I attempted to uninstall the update however windows tells me that it is required and cannot be removed.

This update has essentially rendered my brand new computer useless.

Please help!

Hey there, everyone

I have spoken to Missy Quarry, from the Edge team, and they are investigating this problem. However, they really need more details submitted though the Feedback Hub on Windows 10.

To submit feedback, please go to start > Feedback Hub.

You will need to click onto report a problem. Then enter your feedback/problem you are having with Microsoft Edge. On the categories you will need to make sure you have the following drop down options selected in the image underneath:

The more detail you can submit, the better it will be for the Edge team to find out what is causing this issue. So the detail box that has the test comment, should detail everything you are experiencing.

@JessaGorantes- this is NOT the forum for Update Troubleshooting, it is for issues with KB4553909 specifically.

However, try going to the Notification menu on the bottom right, choose All Settings, the choose Update & Security. On the left side of that windows, choose Troubleshoot, then choose the blue "Additonal Trubleshooters" link there.

In the middle of the new Window, you will see the troubleshooter for Windows Update. Click on that and let it complete.

If it does not fix that issue, please search for your issue on the Microsoft Answers forums, with you usual browser and search engine, with the following search term (but without the quotes): "Microsoft Answers Windows Updates Troubleshooting" and review the returned results with any official advice from MVP experts on the Microsoft forums ONLY.

Avoid any AD (Advert) links with "quick fix" free utilities and driver scanners from non-Microsoft sources, as they are often full of advertising and trackers (usually called PUP's - Potentially Unwanted Programs)!
