For Office 2007 File Validation IssueGo to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download

Find OFV.CAB and extract it.

You'll have OFV.msi

Install it and hit Retry on Windows Update.

Try this:

Go to Command Prompt and type:

net stop wuauserv

Then navigate to C:\Windows\ and rename the folder SoftwareDistribution to SoftwareDistribution.old

Go back to Command Prompt and type:

net start wuauserv

Then restart and see if you can run updates again.

Thanks to MichelC4 solution and the update error is solved for now. It was never happened in my laptops all along and this time occurred in my new Lenovo which I had just received 2 days ago.
