For Office 2007 File Validation IssueGo to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download

Find OFV.CAB and extract it.

You'll have OFV.msi

Install it and hit Retry on Windows Update.

    Hello all,

    Yes, I too agree that waiting for 12 to 24 hours is the proper solution to the "Windows update error 0x80240023 for the Microsoft Office File Validation Add-in update. 

    So if like me, anyone took my original advice and hid the File Validation Add-in update using the wushowhide utility, you will have to rerun the wushowhide utility and uh-hide it so that it can update going forward.

    Glad to hear that your problem is solved  -  but after this when i went to start word or excel  ...im now experiencing another error in MS Office see the link below -  i started a new thread for this error.

    thank you Ruskin F much appreciated , my problem here got solved - all I did was wait for 24 hours and it automatically updated next day  i followed on screen instructions and the error issue went away....but now  i have another issue  i have noted it here at this link

    all looks ok and running ok....

    It was a lot of shut downs, restarts. ,,, 

    my office 2007 ent. ,,,,,,, i think i have updated for the last time,

    THIS WAS ALL TO DO WITH error code   Ox80240023

    its time and waiting.
