Can't update Watchtower Library.

I had the same problem and here is what finally worked for me. I uninstalled watchtower library. I went to JW.Org and downloaded the watchtower library. It downloaded as ly_E (8) iso. When I clicked this, it went to power2go which allowed me to burn this on a blank disc (must contain enough memory-mine had 4 g). I then used this disc to install watchtower library onto my computer. It installed as the 2017 version. I then updated it as shown on the watchtower library. It updated the library so that I now have a current library that shows the very latest watchtowers etc. I have windows 10. Hope this helps.

Go to Control panel choose programs scroll down to Watchtower library and click on it select uninstal.

follow prompts to uninstall it.

When uninstalled reboot computer. 

Then go to jw.org and in search type install watchtower library.

Scroll down to where it tells you how to install it.

Click on the download button the install iso file will load to your computer.

While this is going on go back to the search in jw.org and type in update watchtower library. press enter

scroll down to where it tells you how to update and press the download button which will give you the update package.

Now go to where it put the iso file (usually in downloads) doubleclick it and follow the instructions to install it.

When installed go to help That is help in watchtower library and click on it choose manual update package. choose apply package.

go to where your update package is it is the file ending with pkg

double click it and follow instructions.

It will load

and watchtower library will be up to date and load immediately

If I go to the danish JW.ORG and select update, I get BUNDLE.UPDATEPKG file.

If I go to the english JW.ORG and then select the danish version, I get the lyu_E.updatepkg file.

This was the solution for me. Now it works :-)

Here is a solution that might help.

1- First make hidden files and folders visible.

Go to Windows 10 /options/Type Folder options in the search box. Click on the window, Under "View" select show hidden files Apply/OK.

2- Go to C:\ProgramData\Watchtower\WTLibrary

3- delete the two files, "ca-bundle.zip" and "cert.pem"

4- Open Watchtower Library, go to help/check for updates and try again.

This worked perfectly to allow me to update my Spanish WT Library which is helpful when I need to copy 7 paste scriptures.

It is enormously helpful. Now I'll try it in the English version.
