Can anyone help me please? I installed a Windows 10 update on 23 June 2020 and, ever since then, whenever I turn my laptop on (after it being shut down) I find that have been logged off from everything. This didn't happen prior to the update and it is happening every time I turn my laptop back on. So it looks like when I shut down my laptop it is automatically logging me out of every application so when I turn it back on I have to log in to everything all over again (Outlook, OneDrive etc.) Is there anything I can do to stop this? It's infuriating! Also, info that is usually remembered on websites that I use frequently e.g. ID numbers, passwords etc are also cleared whenever I shut down my laptop, even though I am checking the 'keep me logged in' boxes. Any advice would be much appreciated.

I use Firefox, and all of my settings are as you mentioned. Plus, this happens while I'm using Firefox--not after it's closed. The only security software installed on my computer is Microsoft's own Defender. I'm pretty sure this is a Microsoft problem.

Ouch! You might check your Firefox options. Under the three bar symbol at the top right corner of the Firefox window choose Options-->Privacy & Security. Under Cookies and Site Data find the box for "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" and make sure it is not checked. Under History, make sure that "Never remember history" is NOT selected. Under the three bar symbol, avoid using "New private window." Under the three bar symbol, Options-->Startup there is a box for "Restore previous version." Checking that might help, although I have it unchecked on mine and I don't have the problem. If your Firefox options seem okay, then something else is the cause, possibly your security software. Unfortunately, problems like this one can be very tough to diagnose. It is almost an unwritten rule of Windows PCs hat what solves a problem on one system may not work on another.

Oh no, that's annoying! It's weird how there seem to be a few things that work on some computers but not others. It's so weirdly inconsistent
