Your Phone calls unusable due to too much echo

I have setup Your Phone on my PC and Phone Companion on my phone (Nokia 7.1) - both devices have latest software and are fully patched.

While I can make and receive phone calls via the Your Phone app on the PC (and they sound fine at my end) the other parties all complain of excessive echo so that I need to conduct the call on the phone.

My mic and speaker settings are the same as I use for Skype, Zoom, Hangouts, etc. - how do I trouble shoot this? 

Is it possibly caused by the mic / speakers on the phone remaining active during the call?

I deavticivated AGC in the Mic settings and it worked for me

    This worked for me, or something like it, anyway. I disabled every other mic on the system, then found the "Advanced" tab of the mic I use. Once there, I saw an option called "Signal Enhancements." Mine has a single check box, "Enable Audio Enhancement," under that section. Disabled it and the echo was gone.

    Additional benefit: the mic is no longer picking up every tiny noise in the room. Callers no longer complain of echo, nor can they hear my air conditioner. Or my squeaky chair. Or my stomach growling when I'm hungry. Seems that the Signal Enhancement feature isn't much of an enhancement at all...

    The app is really handy, I hope MS can get all these weird little issues sorted out soon.

    Disable "Signal Enhancements" in the advanced tab of the mic you want to use, that will clean up the echo and background noise problems in one stroke.

    I did that, and it made no difference for me. Still lots of echo and background noises.

    This is not very convenient as (by disconnecting USB part) I lost buttons to turn volume up/down and mute - now I need to use a mouse and Windows controls to achieve the same. However, no echo so I will stick to this workaround hoping that one day I can switch back to USB plug with no echo.

    I have the same echo issues for the other party with using my aux connections unfortunately since my headset is driverless, but for your volume and overall control issues lost with the USB software and control unit I would suggest using VoiceMeeter Banana with Ear Trumpet. Just lookup some YouTube videos on basic setup and tutorials and you should be good. All the EQ , Volume & Input control you should need and more (Free). Just started messing around with them myself. Save & Load multiple custom settings profiles for different situations (Voice call, Multimedia setup, Recording, Gaming, etc...).
