Your Phone calls unusable due to too much echo

I have setup Your Phone on my PC and Phone Companion on my phone (Nokia 7.1) - both devices have latest software and are fully patched.

While I can make and receive phone calls via the Your Phone app on the PC (and they sound fine at my end) the other parties all complain of excessive echo so that I need to conduct the call on the phone.

My mic and speaker settings are the same as I use for Skype, Zoom, Hangouts, etc. - how do I trouble shoot this? 

Is it possibly caused by the mic / speakers on the phone remaining active during the call?

I deavticivated AGC in the Mic settings and it worked for me

    Regarding microphone bleed, its not, if I mute my headset microphone the person on the other side is still hearing echo, which means something is happening on the bluetooth.

    EDIT: Upon further testing, I realized that the only thing that removes the echo is muting A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) on recording devices, though this is obviously not a solution since doing this makes you unable to hear the conversation as well. I believe the issue lies within Microsoft A2DP driver.

    I've kept doing some tests and found one more thing.

    If during a call I deactivate and re-activate my headset microphone from sound properties echo is gone, however in the next call echo will be back, yet if I deactivate and re-activate the headset microphone echo will be gone again, but only for the duration of that call.

    I did a bit of testing with this issue. Normally my phone will mute my mic when anything is coming from the speakers (this is standard phone functionality to avoid echoes). The Your Phone app isn't doing that. So my mic picks up what I'm hearing as I'm hearing it, and sends it back to the other person on the line. 

    I think this is an old problem, pertaining to the basic functionality of phones. And it has a solution but Msft just didn't implement it (yet), or it's not working for me.

    No. Many of us are getting the echo while using a headset. I even tested it (just now) with output on a headset and input on a separate webcam. There is something in the coding that is including the caller's sound with the mic sound. Also, this is the ONLY application in Windows that has this echo. Not Discord, not Skype, not Zoom, not Facebook. Microsoft needs to fix this.

    I have the same issue using Windows 10 and a Samsung Note 20+ recently bought a Bluetooth adapter to use my phone to call people using my Windows computer with my USB headset or USB microphone. Got some input devices but all USB. Tried to solve it with solutions that people posted here, unfortunately there was no solution for my setup.
