Your Phone calls unusable due to too much echo

I have setup Your Phone on my PC and Phone Companion on my phone (Nokia 7.1) - both devices have latest software and are fully patched.

While I can make and receive phone calls via the Your Phone app on the PC (and they sound fine at my end) the other parties all complain of excessive echo so that I need to conduct the call on the phone.

My mic and speaker settings are the same as I use for Skype, Zoom, Hangouts, etc. - how do I trouble shoot this? 

Is it possibly caused by the mic / speakers on the phone remaining active during the call?

I deavticivated AGC in the Mic settings and it worked for me

    Hi Bob. I gave up on this a long time ago. With Skype and my cell phone I really don't need to have a third method of communication although I probably would have used this from time to time.

    Well it doesn't have much to do with the YourPhone app per se, it just solves the same problem.

    I put a Call Forward on line busy setting on my cellphone, which would automatically forward the call to my landline number from my ISP. All i have to do is manually hang up incoming calls using the your phone app, then the call would instead arrive at the SIP client.

    Then I installed a SIP Client (I'm using Linphone since its free, but there are better clients out there) for my landline number to pick up the call. Linphone has echo cancellation built in, so i can even use the speakers and mic to take the calls.

    However this only works for incoming calls, outgoing calls i have to either make from my cellphone, or directly using the SIP client, which would show my landline caller id, and also be billed to my landline bill, which doesnt have any free minutes.

    Hi, thanks for the info on forwarding the call from yourphone to a SIP client on your pc.

    I am interested in how you have done this. Can you please outline how this is done, and also the particular SIP client you are using?
