I was told by Adobe that I had to have the latest Windows in order to install Elements 2020.  So I update Windows to 2004 and all heck broke loose.  Mostly, incredibly slow performance, even on simple browser requests (with 100Mbs internet).  Taking advice here, I rolled back to the previous Windows version, and all seems to be working normally again.

C'mon MS.  I shouldn't have to waste several hours beta testing your latest release!

Ok, I have the fastest consumer grade SSD available and nothing suggested in this thread has worked for me. Before the 2004 update my PC was insanely fast. literally opening programs 20 seconds after pressing the button to power on. Ever since the 2004 update it takes my PC between 5-10 minutes to work properly.  How can you explain that?

I can explain that madam by simply saying "I don't know". There's something obviously awol somewhere.

I was enjoying this problem of the 'Restarting' just staying there with that impressive little circle going around in squares and that went on for days.

Then suddenly & without warning, it just changed and I've not seen the 'Starting' hanging since. I have to sum it up as both weird and wonderful.

Lately, it was the computers not going into Hibernate or Sleep and suddenly it just stopped and worked ok. I have no answer as to why that is! Apple must be eating their little hearts out!

It's hilarious but do post back when the problem disappears on its own!  :-)
