Windows Booting very slow after 2004 update ,

Reading all the reviews about slow boot up time.I must be a very lucky person as i have never had that problem with windows version 2004 or now the latest version 20H2.My boot up time is 24 seconds and my shut down time is 7 seconds.

While i appreciate this will not solve all your problems a good starting point is to make sure you have a ssd drive installed.

I use a Samsung 860 Evo.In my own humble opinion you will not find any better.I was never a fan of the tile system on windows 10 so i gave it the look of windows 7 even down to the  windows start globe button.May not be for everyone but for me it works great.

My PC now takes more than three times as long to boot up as prior to the update (also now a bit slower to shut down) . . . but then it seems to perform pretty much as per normal (for Win 10 that is).  But that's the very least of the problems that, sadly, I daily experience with Win 10 (MS's absolute worst operating system ever!).

Hi @Keith74 - I suspect that a lot of the 26GB would be the windows.old previous OS version save area. Deleting that will have the negative effect of not being able to revert to the previous level prior to the last feature Update. On the positive side, it will speed up an anti-virus full system scan a bit, but I doubt it will have made much difference to the boot time issue, that this main topic is about.

I am sure you will have done it, but just in case you haven't - run Disk Cleanup (including Clean up system files). I found and deleted 26GB of files after the upgrade to version 2004.
