Windows Live Mail cannot display message after Windows 10 update

My laptop recently updated windows 10 (I think #1909) on it's own.  After the update, my Windows Live Mail quit working.  It downloads the message headers/titles, so I know it's connecting to the gmail server, but when I try to open the message, I get the error, "Message Can't be Displayed.  Windows live mail encountered an unexpected problem while displaying this message. Check your computer for low memory or disk space and try again."  I have plenty of memory and disk space.  Thanks for any suggestions!  (And yes, I know I should go to a newer email client, but I have too much wrapped up in Windows Live and just want to fix it!)  Rick

    Made it through

    Computer \ HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows Live Mail

    But I don't understand the rest

    Create these 3 32-bit DWORD entries (were not available for me) or change to 1 if they exist

    RecreateFolderIndex = 1

    RecreateStreamIndex = 1

    RecreateUIDLIndex = 1

    Restart Windows Live Mail. Then the message display goes back to normal for me and the 3 values ​​in the registry are reset to 0. Can be left as it is.

    Simple fix, Worked for me! WLM gets corrupted during the update.

    Regedit:

    In the registry under

    Computer \ HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows Live Mail

    SCREW YOU MICROSOFT!  Stop trying to break legacy software if the replacement you offer is awful!

    Just updated win 10 yesterday now I'm having the same issue. Is it possible for you to break these instructions down in PC for dummies format. I am OK with doing things on my PC with instructions. I built my own about 10 years ago and still going strong. I need help with the programming part.

    OK John, seems we've got a winner here, worked as magic, thank you!

    WLM is easy to use, simple and yet cover pretty much all I need from the email nowadays

    I also wish they would just work on get it updated
