Windows Live Mail cannot display message after Windows 10 update

My laptop recently updated windows 10 (I think #1909) on it's own.  After the update, my Windows Live Mail quit working.  It downloads the message headers/titles, so I know it's connecting to the gmail server, but when I try to open the message, I get the error, "Message Can't be Displayed.  Windows live mail encountered an unexpected problem while displaying this message. Check your computer for low memory or disk space and try again."  I have plenty of memory and disk space.  Thanks for any suggestions!  (And yes, I know I should go to a newer email client, but I have too much wrapped up in Windows Live and just want to fix it!)  Rick

    You should consider Thunderbird Mail if you want to try to replicate what Windows Live Mail offered. As Windows 10 evolves WLM could well stop working all together. https://www.thunderbird.net/en-GB/

    I believe you can import WLM folders into Thunderbird.

    Hi Rick, windows live mail is out of support - https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/18614

    The support ended in 2017, I would recommend you to use windows Mail app instead that comes with windows 10.

    Thanks for your help!

    I went to your first link.  I checked for updates and none are listed.

    The current settings for apps lists only "uninstall", no longer uninstall or repair for Windows Live Essentials.  I didn't  uninstall as I don't think Windows Live is currently available to reinstall?

    Also, the link in the lower part about backup and restore for Windows Live Mail is no longer working.

    I also checked out the second link you recommended.  Those links also no longer work.

    Thanks for any other suggestions!  I assume this is just some setting that was changed in the windows 10 update.
