Hi,

I am trying to download the GroupMe app for my PC (win 10, 2004) in the new Edge browser but it does not work.

When I hit the "Get" button I see a message that "This site is trying to to open URL: ms-windows-store". When I click on open, the message disappears and nothing happens.

What is going on here?

Thanks,

Ed

It repairs the windows store app. See if you can open the Windows Store now from Start menu and install GroupMe.

    I ran that command and I saw about one line of text displayed but before I could read it all it was already gone.

    Was that it?

    This is a Windows App, it runs without the need for any emulation. If you have it on another device like a phone using android OS, they are the same app, just running in a different environment.

    The error you are getting from Opera browser implies that it is not familiar with the protocol used to launch the Windows Store App. I dont use Opera so I dont know if that is a limitation of that browser.

    As we discussed earlier, you can launch the Windows Store outside the browser by simply running it from the Start menu, where it should have a presence. If I recall, though, you said you were unable to open the Windows Store app while logged in with your primary account. I think that was because the codebase for the Windows Store was missing in your account.

    Right-click the Start menu > select Windows Powershell (administrator) and paste this command and press Enter: Get-AppxPackage -allusers Microsoft.WindowsStore | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

    This should rebuild the Store app for all users on the system. See if you can launch it afterwards from Start menu.

    What are the error messages?

    See below.

    One other question: do I need an Android emulator like Bluestacks installed in order to run GroupMe? I did ask the Groupme support but they didn't know.

    Thanks,

    Ed
