Night light off after screen wakes from sleep

I have the issue that night light is always off when my screen comes back from a (blank) screen saver or the PC wakes from sleep. This has been mentioned several times but the recommended solutions do no address this issue but the issue that night light is not working at all. So to clarify, night light is working, it is just off when the screen comes back from screen saver. If I then check the night light setting, it is enabled and the slider is in the correct position but I need to briefly click on the slider for the feature to actually come on again. This is rather annoying as I often work at night and need to do this several times a day then.

Is there a solution for this? And again, please do not post any links on "how to fix night light not working" because it is working. It is simply off after waking from screen saver.

BTW I am on an HP ZBOOK 15 G2 laptop with NVIDIA Quadro 1100M and Intel HD 4600 (which Windows has stopped with Code 43 - I tried many things including the usual driver roll-back/update/removing hardware and letting it autodetect again etc, but have not been able to resolved it, so I assume that the system uses the NVIDIA card only - on the latest drivers). I run WIN 10 Pro, ver 2004 and am using an external monitor AOC Q3277.

Thank you.

I have the same problem on my Surface Pro 7, and it's really really annoying. In fact, I have two problems with the night light feature.

    1. If the night light mode is on, and my Surface goes to sleep, Night light will be off when I wake it, but the toggle is still in the 'on' status. I have to toggle if off and on again to re-activate it.
    2. Night light doesn't turn off as scheduled. I have my night light scheduled to turn on at 11:30pm, and turn off at 9am the next day. It turns on as scheduled at 11:30pm. When I go to bed at midnight, I shut down the Surface. When I wake up and boot up the Surface after 9am, I expect the night light to be off. However, it remains on. Again I have to toggle the setting on and off to fix it.

I reinstalled my graphics drivers and am on the latest windows updates, but neither have resolved this.

I don't understand how this basic functionality hasn't been fixed yet. These are simple, obvious use cases, and it's clearly occurring across many devices. Do Microsoft employees even use their own products? Do they even read these posts?

This has nothing to do with graphics driver version so don't waste your time reinstalling them or doing pointless plug in plug out ceremonies. It's a bug in windows with monitor sleep functions, plain and simple. Hopefully the issue is upvoted enough for Microsoft to see it.

I'm not sure about that (that it has nothing to do with GPU drivers).

Running an AMD Vega 56 here. The problem has been driving me mad for ages. BUT, at some point, after updating my GPU driver (manually via Radeon CC), the problem went away.

Then a few months later I noticed a new driver available (again via Radeon CC). Having thought the issue was fixed, I again updated the driver manually. The problem came back as soon as I installed the new AMD driver.

I didn't roll it back and now I have no idea what version the "working" driver was; in any case I prefer to be up-to-date.

Monitor connected via certified DP cable. Problem manifests after monitor exits standby. Opening "Settings" app to Night Light settings turns NL back on, as does Ctrl-Shift-Win-B (driver reset).

Hello, When will microsoft intended to fix this problem. It's been problem since 2018, and yet 3 years still no any update regarding this problem. It's really troublesome to enable and disable it, and it's convenient to have one, but please make it work properly please, so we don't need to install 3rd party solution...

    Any help is appreciate

    Thank you
