Mouso core worker process

Just throwing my hat in the ring. I am another who is experiencing this issue with MoUsoCoreWorker keeping my computer awake

Installed the update (KB4023057) when it came out and continued to have this issue.
I have since updated to 20H2 and the issue persists.

I have gone through every "solution" in this thread and nothing has fixed the issue for me.

I went through a this thread and copied each unique solution and went through them one by on.

Not only did your solution not work, but it ended up preventing non-cumulative updates from installing at all.

I have 3 Dell laptops all with latest windows and all updates. For the past several weeks I have been having issues with computers not going to sleep. All relate to MoUsoCoreWorker.exe, as reported in Powercfg.Requests, as others have said.

Restarting the Windows Update procedure, as reported by others, would not clear the problem by itself. These additional steps did the trick for me:

1. Power down the laptop.
2. Remove all peripherals including docking stations etc.
3. Unplug wall Power Adapter.
4. REMOVE THE LAPTOP BATTERY.
5. Press and hold the Computer Start button for a few seconds to bleed any residual power out.
6. Reassemble the computer, and boot up normally.
7. Rerun Windows Update. Computer may then reveal what is hanging up the system, and allow the update software installation to continue.
8. When update is completed, Reboot normally, then run Powercfg /Requests. With luck you should then see there is no more MoUsoCoreWorker.exe flagged there.

Unfortunately you will probably have to do this again after the next Windows Update screwup happens. I wish Microsoft would fix this.

Hey there, I've been running into similar problems with spontaneous waking up from sleep. Only on a single sleep analysis report did it state the MoUSO as the culprit. Additionally, update KB4601319 keeps running into error code 0x8007000d regardless of my attempts at either downloading it or bypassing updates entirely.

Edit: Troubleshooting Power seemed to help, God only knows why other methods didn't. Hope to never need this again.

I have found a simple steps to troubleshoot this issue. Works on my 4 different PCs.

(I'm not sure about the English names of Settings app...)

1. Settings=>Windows Update=>Other options=>Set delay of Windows Update on max days
2. Close Setting
3. Wait some time (~1 min)
4. Open Settings again=>Windows Update=>click on Resume Windows Update button at the right
5. That's all.

Sorry, I have only Pro version. I don't know if the Home version has an option to pause updates.

Just writing to confirm that this solution has worked (so far) in my case too. The update troubleshooter did not find any problems. But when I did this here what happened is that KB4577586 (remove flash player) was installed and MoUsoCoreWorker.exe is now gone from powercfg -requests. And Windows goes into sleep mode again. Hope this will last.

I tried to fix hitting check for updates several times but never showed any. I tried this trick, waited 1 min resume and it comes back with KB4023057 downloaded and installed, UNF****** believable.
