why my windows is not ready for update

I'm John an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you. I want to apologize if you encountered this issue. I understand you have a problem with Windows 2004 update not yet available on your device.

Windows 10 Feature update 2004 won't immediately available for everyone because Microsoft is taking its usual gradual process to rolling out the upgrade, offering the upgrade in stages beginning with those whose devices Microsoft believes are the most likely to successfully install the update. If you don't receive the update yet, Microsoft possibly detect compatibility issues on your device, These holds are due to conflicts that could cause applications not to run correctly. In the past few days/weeks, Users still experiencing problems after upgrading to version 2004. Give the update a month or two to mature. This will let the Feature update fix it's own problems through patches along the way and be more stable. I would not recommend you to upgrade manually because of this ongoing issues.

Hi there John, I have the same problem and I understand that I may not receive my copy of the version asap but, there's an icon on my taskbar saying that my version of Windows 10 will reach its end of service soon. Click to download a newer version of Windows 10 to stay supported. It quite worries me that I my lose the genuine Windows in my laptop.

Edit: Even though Windows update still gave me the message below, I ran the Windows 10 Update Assistant tool and this time it worked! BitDefender Antivirus was still installed and running so in my case the update had nothing to do with pausing or uninstalling the antivirus software. Wrong advice by Microsoft again.

Put me on this list too. I'm still getting the "The Windows 10 May 2020 Update is on its way. Once it’s ready for your device, you’ll see the update available on this page." It's now December 1st with no fix or explanation in sight. I contacted support, they remoted in and tried to do a few things. When they got to remotely reflashing the Bios I stopped them. They sent follow-up emails and when I would respond, no response. When I would manually try to install the update it would fail on 2nd reboot and then roll back to 1909.

If this isn't bad enough, I have two identical Asus G750JW laptops. One installed to 2004 update without a problem. The second one keeps failing. Is there a way to jump over 2004 initial release and install 2009?

2004 indicates that the update was planned for the year 2020 (20) in the month of April (04)

Its no use  since it just keeps showing one thing, error and some fancy numbers and letters.

Why doesn't Microsoft simply call this the May 2021 Update because it probably won't be ready for at least a year?  If there are so many glitches to this update they would be better off scrapping it and starting all over with a new update.
