why my windows is not ready for update

The Windows 10 May 2020 Update is on its way. Once it’s ready for your device, you’ll see the update available on this page. 

This is the message shown by the system.

I have "HP OMEN 15 Series" laptop. I keep my drivers Up to date but why I am not reciving this update.

    I'm John an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you. I want to apologize if you encountered this issue. I understand you have a problem with Windows 2004 update not yet available on your device.

    Windows 10 Feature update 2004 won't immediately available for everyone because Microsoft is taking its usual gradual process to rolling out the upgrade, offering the upgrade in stages beginning with those whose devices Microsoft believes are the most likely to successfully install the update. If you don't receive the update yet, Microsoft possibly detect compatibility issues on your device, These holds are due to conflicts that could cause applications not to run correctly. In the past few days/weeks, Users still experiencing problems after upgrading to version 2004. Give the update a month or two to mature. This will let the Feature update fix it's own problems through patches along the way and be more stable. I would not recommend you to upgrade manually because of this ongoing issues.

    Today I see a new notice that my "version (1909) of Windows 10 will reach end of service soon", but on my settings page still showing "The Windows 10 May 2020 Update is on its way. Once it’s ready for your device, you’ll see the update available on this page".

    No help anywhere?

    Dear john dev,

    I have waited almost 4 months, and now windows version 2009 has released, and i am still stuck at 1909! I am seriously not happy with what microsoft is doing, and I wish they would at least think in our shoes for a second! I cant install some software from microsoft store without at least 2004!

    Same as ParzivalW.S.Artemis, as of 2020-11-13 my machine still has no update and is stuck on 1909. It's a Lenovo with an i5-5200 processor, 16GB RAM, and plenty of free disk. It's not frightfully new, but I still can't imagine which boxes it doesn't tick.

    Similar to others that have already posted, I'm still stuck on 1909, with no clue or information as to why this is, and it's on a work laptop that in terms of specs is exactly the same as some of my colleagues who have all been updated to 2004, and some starting to update to 2009.

    What is going on here?
