Media Feature Pack - version 2004 ( June 2020 )

I was very hopeful when I saw this. but after I typed the second command, I got this error message.    Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool

Version: 10.0.19041.572

Image Version: 10.0.19042.685

Error: 87

A Windows capability name was not recognized.

The DISM log file can be found at C:\WINDOWS\Logs\DISM\dism.log.....I physically felt my heart break...but did I make a mistake? ...pls help.

First command shows you only:

CapabilityIdentity : Media.WindowsMediaPlayer~~~~0.0.12.0

So the second command is wrong...try default:

dism /online /add-capability/capabilityname:Media.MediaFeaturePack~~~~0.0.1.0

·         If there is no Media.MediaFeaturePack line, your OS does not have the feature option.Doublecheck your OS version, you might not need the Media Feature Pack. Also youradministrator or IT support might block the feature due to certain reasons,contact them first. Otherwise, in this case this manual will not help you.

On my system (2007 Pro-N) selecting a list of the feature actually  activated I see similar entries 

When I select the list of features that I can activate I see a list of over 50 entries

And - 

Note the second  list shown  ids to turn features ON or OFF,   - that implies that those listed features have ALREADY BEEN INSTALLED 

What it appears that this thread is looking at is the need to 'add' the feature to the windows environment.

Now navigating any you mentioned the result  is as below :

As you see my Windows have not this selection ,  Media Feature Pack****in the Optional Features list .

Perhaps there is any solution for or a lot waiting .

Instead of responding like a troll, how about posting the link to the package appropriate for the 2004 version you downloaded ?

Yes, you are right. As of now, the media feature pack for 2004 has not been published yet. I guess it would take a week or so more.

You may search for "Media feature pack" in the optional features as the primary method for delivery would be it and afterward, a support page would be published.

And I am currently running the 2004 version of windows-10-N having implemented the package that was, as I posted, included in that install of windows.
