Feature update to Windows 10, version 2004 causing issues with credentials

Hi! I've been experiencing this problem for the past month or two. I have an Acer Spin with WIN 10 Home.

It happens when I bring up my Chrome browser, or log onto yahoo mail or banking websites where I have an account. I also tried using Edge and the same thing happens so the browser isn't the problem. And the problem is mercurial. Sometimes I'll go a few days where I don't have to re-establish credentials, then bam! The problem comes right back when I turn my computer on again. As it is, it just came up now when I turned my computer on again after being fine earlier this morning! That's why I'm writing this now.

Luckily, I do have a Chromebook, which never has this problem with updates or credentials, so I'm using it more.

Also, I'm not in charge of a big network of Windows machines. I imagine with this problem it would truly be infuriating! And the solutions posted here that, supposedly work are quite complicated and unless you're a real techie, it would be easy to make mistakes.

I help a few people I know with their computers when they have problems but not to the degree that these solutions require such as basically re-installing the entire OS! This would be quite difficult for the casual home user who just wants to know how to get back into their email account that they usually stayed signed into and now it wants them to re-enter their passwords and may require two-factor authorization on top of that as the account no longer recognizes their machine as a trusted device!

I'm wondering if Microsoft is even working on this problem though I'm sure they know about it by now.

As for me, i may just access my accounts with my chromebook, which has proven much more reliable and far less mercurial. 

Wish I had a fairly easy and workable solution other than getting a Chromebook or Mac. And good luck with any solutions!

Thanks for your reply but am interested to learn that you're ok on Chromebook;s and Mac's. Having become increasingly frustrated with MS and their Window's 10 tech guys doing nothing to accept what they have done with W10 (2004) I too am on the verge of walking away from MS in favour of Mac offerings.

At 6-mths in since MS let rip with W10 2004 I am  even more steps back with all my laptops now being affected in the very same way. I have raised case after case after case and have had nothing other than time wasting calls or web chat or accessed attempts.

I more than despair but just don't know what anyone has to do to wake MS up to this issue.

Huge frustration with MS and worse than disappointed with their 'couldn't care less' attitude to this.

Any reason why the PowerShell script is not working? I copied and pasted the two listed in this thread.   I tried it on two different computers that have the password issue and I get invalid command.

If you look up replies on the previous pages, you would get a workaround that would help.

Must run with Administrator privileges.  On the Task Scheduler entry, check the "Run With Highest Privileges" box
