Unable to print after installing update KB4560960 and/or KB4561608. Uninstalling updates fixes problem. Reporting bug.

Thanks for posting this. I have an MFC printer from Brother and tried everything under the sun and then finally figured out it was the windows update that did this, then kept searching for a fix and came across your post and this worked for me.

I believe it's limited to 10 for some reason.  Even though 7, 8, and 10 all share so much... so I don't understand that.

I'm recommending all folks I fix this for send their bill to Microsoft.  I know it's a futile effort but it's the principle.  They can break (millions?) of people's printers with an automatic update and then release a fix... that isn't automatic.  Because 99% of people don't have a clue how to download and install a program or navigate the labyrinth of Microsoft's pages to locate the correct one.  Where's the quick Microsoft Fix It for this?!

I am wondering if this problem is also occurring when 8.1 is upgraded to Win 10.

I just upgraded several days ago and found I could not print to ANY HP printer (we have 2 in the office & I have 1 at home.) All printers worked with another win 10 HP laptop, but not this upgraded one.

I had to uninstall win 10 and now can print again on all three. 

Is this a different problem?

Is this something that MS knows about? Is there a fix? Or is this an HP driver problem? (I updated all the drivers.)

Thanks.  This procedure seems to have worked and I was able to print on my Brother MFC-290C.

My experience:  Brother MFC-490CW, local via USB, Windows 10 Pro, 64-bit.  Worked fine before Windows Update 2004.  After update the scanner feature still worked but printing failed.  Patch KB4567512 did not help.  The correct patch for update 2004 is windows10.0-kb4567523-x64_34b4dbb86f35d25ce4cb839aa4007079323507d3.msu.  Printer works again.
