Windows 10 Update (Something went wrong. Try to reopen settings later)

* Mod note on 16 October 2021.

A third-party tool to block all updates to Windows 10 is mentioned several times in this thread. Links to this tool have been removed because Microsoft policy is that one cannot post here any method of permanently stopping/blocking updates to Windows.

Everytime i enter windows update i cant see nothing in Windows Update tab, only "Something went wrong. Try to reopen settings later" .

3 days have went by of me trying to fix this, but nothing is working...

The troubleshoot shows nothing wrong...

Tried to reset the pc but i got an error (something went wrong)...

When i try to scan the disk it always gives me an error

Did sfc /scandisk in safe mode there was no problem

    @suddhadeepdasgupta Thanks for the video.  I try not to install any apps to fix things because I have an inherent distrust of packaged applications that change system settings.

    I hope at least one of the fixes in this forum thread is able to help others.

    Try restoring the registry key - it's fast and you are in complete control of the action (i.e. no executables to run).
