My elderly DCP195C has been working fine with my Windows 10S until today, Thu 11 June 2020. Windows did a large update yesterday or day before. Now the printer will not work }:-( Tried looking at settings but nothing seems to solve the problem. Anyone any suggestions please?

Same problem with a Brother MFC790CW. All of a sudden (specifically after latest Windows update) it won't print! Not from Word, Excel, Edge, Notepad, Acrobat - nowhere, nohow. Kind of oddly, Paperport still SCANS OK on this multi-function printer, producing .jpg and .pdf documents just fine, so I know there is at least some communication between the computer and printer.
C'mon Microsoft, fix your update!!! I'm a 75 year old retiree & I don't want to buy another printer because YOU screwed up! (and what assurances do we have you won't screw up THAT printer?)

Hello everyone, can I suggest that you all read a tandem thread regarding Brother Printers not responding to the print command. For the attention of the Microsoft Independent Advisers, please check https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows\_10-hardware/printer-wont-print/2a85dead-7dbe-473c-9516-2a460925cc8c?messageId=bafec329-1aa1-43fc-ae71-31d1bff15c6f , where, what seems to be the same problem cannot be resolved using some of the same checks and attempted fixes.
