Windows 10S Brother printer DCP-195C will not work
My elderly DCP195C has been working fine with my Windows 10S until today, Thu 11 June 2020. Windows did a large update yesterday or day before. Now the printer will not work }:-( Tried looking at settings but nothing seems to solve the problem. Anyone any suggestions please?

2020-06-18T11:04:43+00:00 Uninstall KB4557957 if it is there - mine updated today and KB560960 dissappeared from the intalled updates list, however I was still not able to print. I then noticed that KB4557957 had appeared, so I uninstalled that and...it now prints again.
Thanks! That was the it!
OK, so the offending updates have gone, but watch out for the "klingons", the next time Microsoft issue another KB, the removed updates will be reinstalled and you may have to repeat the uninstall, or disable future updates until you can Google that Microsoft have identified and corrected their problem.

2020-06-17T21:17:08+00:00 Hi Jack,
Hmmmm! That's everything I can think of and you've done them all...! Looks like a case of hoping that Microsoft fixes the issue with the updates ASAP..!
I've upgraded 2 laptops in my house to the latest window 10 version 2004, (the other PC's have a message saying they won't update yet!) But from what I'm reading it wouldn't make any difference. Its definitely not a brother issue as everybody and yourself agrees, especially if you can print from your phone!
The only (and it's way off and a longshot - a very longshot...!!!!) If you can upgrade to version 1909 or 2004 then see if those kb's are installed and you can uninstall them...! But thats the 3rd glass of whiskey I've had that's talking!
Finger and toes and anything else crossed for you and other people that haven't been able to fix the issue!

2020-06-17T20:40:24+00:00 Hi Jack,
I've just been reading through the previous pages, apologies if i'm repeating things that you may have done but did you have kb4557957 in the update history? I'd seen you'd tried uninstalling other kb's. Also i noticed your connected to the printer via WiFi and you can scan to the computer so it would look like a windows update issue! Is the printer near the PC and do you have "USB 2.0 A Plug to B Plug" cable you could plug in? Another thing you may have done. so apologies again if you have! Have you deleted the WiFi connection from the PC and tried reconnecting / setting up the WiFi connection again?
Sean
Sean,
Never had the KB4557957 update.
Can't use any USB connection to the printer as it is WiFi only [no USB or printer cable port on the printer]
already had uninstalled the entire printer/fax/scanner from the computer, downloaded the newest printer software package from the Brother site and reinstalled [with appropriate restarts to the computer]. The reinstall of the printer software included new set up of wifi connection.
At a standstill right now.
Jack
