SMB sharing not working after windows 10 update Build 2004 update

Win10 20H2 fixes the issue.

Previously when 2004 broke smb1, I rolled back.

There was no registry change or any other modification made to the system.  After Win10 20H2 upgrade was installed via Windows Updates;  SMB1 worked as it did before the upgrade.

    So if I understand your explanation

    1. Roll back to 1909
    2. Disconnect the device
    3. Upgrade to the rev I am on now 20H2
    4. Reconnect the device to my network

    Is that a correct summary?

    Yes, it is correct except between 2) and 3) to reboot the PC (delete the registry key of the device)

    And : instead of assign a drive letter to the network device, i use now its name : \devicename\

    Hi again.. Hope you are having a great holiday season.

    Thanks for the clarification. I have not tried your suggestion yet.

    So considering I have 3  Windows 10 PC's I guess I need to do the same for all PC's?

    Question for you - Before going through the steps you outlined, were you ever able to connect the your nas drive?  As I stated in my original post is that I can connect to my NAS when I reboot my PC, it's only when I power off any PC whether it be wirelessly or tethered. 

    Is that your same issue?

    Thank you for taking the time to let us know how you fixed it. I have spent months trying to make this work. I even moved all my data off the device and set it back to defaults. On large drives like this, it was no small thing. And it didn't work. But the fix you described here did the trick and I can't tell you how happy I am about it. Thanks again!!!!
