i have 2004 now and this is the version i have now, which was automatically installed by itself, only thing i did was installing with manual method the Lenovo first, which unlocked the magic update :)
This driver version 8.66.95.69 was the latest update that I had from my laptop OEM (which is ASUS) and from Windows update up until I was on Win 10 version 1909.
I was never offered the Synaptic derived version 8.66.98.51 even though it has been available since 2019.
Interestingly, I think there's a difference between Synaptic driver and Conexant drivers.
I had the Conexant Driver version 8.66.95.69 while I was on 1909 version.
Then I removed the Conexant drivers to try to get the 2004 update. So I tried installing Microsoft generic driver, instead I got this one.
Only after installing this driver; Synaptics SmartAudio HD whose driver provider is Microsoft, I was offered the Windows Update.
I was a bit puzzled if it was indeed the Microsoft audio drivers. But I successfully installed 2004 update and so far its a smooth ride.
This whole situation is so weird.
Nevertheless, This whole thread has helped me immensely. Hadn't I discovered this thread I would have been stuck on version 1909.
Although I'm on version 2004 now, I'm still following this thread because I want to help the ones that are stuck on version 1909 in any way possible.
So thank you guys all. 👌😁
