Updating to Windows 10 Version 2004/Conexant Drivers

So what do people with computers with Conexant drivers do? Windows Update says update drivers but there are none acceptable, it also says Microsoft is working on a fix ? So what do we do? If there are compatible drivers for devices using Conexant Audio where are they, how do we get them and install or replace them (I have tried everything to no avail). When does MS expect a fix ? Are persons with Conexant audio drivers computers at end of life ? Does anybody care ?

    Before using the upgrading assistant from the Microsoft's website, i have uninstalled the conexant drivers with the suppress option of the peripherals manager, and it works for me.

    At least for now. Will see later.

    My hardware is an ASUS UX305LA with Windows 10 64bits.

    And no problems with these Conexant audio drivers reinstalled after the upgraded Windows 10, for now.

    Edit of the 15 / 10 / 2020,

    The windows reliability history does not show a single alert since the upgrade.

    I had tried the blocking methods suggested on here to stop Windows automatically reinstalling the Conexant driver but they didn.t work.

    So i removed them and, with the driver installed, I upgraded to 2004 . It is now working perfectly with the driver installed.

    While doing some digging up regarding this whole situation, I found some forum discussion on Lenovo's forum that correeponds to this hedilus Conexant audio drivers having similar issues (2015-16) while upgrading to newer windows version.

    Apparently this situation is nothing new to Microsoft or Conexant.

    What? that's ****, so what shall we all throw the laptops out of the windows and buy new ones? sorry for the rant, totally unacceptable, so i will not be able to get the newest versions even in the future unless i ditch these drivers for generic ones or try these experimental fixes.

    Seriously what happened to Conexant? are they totally out of business? no other company bought them?

    Seems unlikely that they will help. The only reference on the website is that they took over Conexant in 2017. No other mention of audio drivers.

    Just wondering...I am contemplating updating the SSD on my Toshiba satellite and maybe a fresh install of Windows  will automatically add the generic drivers? Has anyone tried this?

    At this point in time, to me, the only option is just to be creative and resolve it ourselves, like a lot of us have done here. Waiting and hoping for Microsoft /or Synaptics (now Conexant owner) to resolve the issue is not realistic to me now.
