Updating to Windows 10 Version 2004/Conexant Drivers

So what do people with computers with Conexant drivers do? Windows Update says update drivers but there are none acceptable, it also says Microsoft is working on a fix ? So what do we do? If there are compatible drivers for devices using Conexant Audio where are they, how do we get them and install or replace them (I have tried everything to no avail). When does MS expect a fix ? Are persons with Conexant audio drivers computers at end of life ? Does anybody care ?

    I would guess that the hardware ID isn't right - the shorter ones in the list cover more. I usewd the 2nd one shown by device manager.

    At the command prompt with GPUPDATE /FORCE can make sure the group policy is applied.

    If you have done it right you should get an error message from Windows update. saying thast

    I've found out something that worries me even more.

    If you try to find the device id 510F at www.pcilookup.com there are no results. If you search for the vendor id 14F1 only there are plenty of devices, but no one related to HD Audio.

    No results at http://www.devicekb.com either.

    Thanks very much for the reply.

    I tried again using GPUPDATE /FORCE and entering both hardware ids into GP but, once again, Windows has reinstalled the Conexant driver.

    My ASUS Zenbook blue screened when trying to install 2004 via the iso image. After disabling the Conexant drivers in the Device manager the install then worked OK. As you experienced, Windows Update immediately installed the blacklisted driver:

    "Conexant - MEDIA - 11/21/2017 12:00:00 AM - 8.66.77.57"

    Even though this driver caused the computer to be blocked from the 2004 upgrade and caused the bluescreen when attempting to manually install from the iso image the computer is now working perfectly with this driver installed post-upgrade. Go figure!

    Sorry if it is a stupid question but how did you disable driver in Device Manager if you were blue screened?
